In October-November of 2023, five international training events were held within the framework of activity 3.4.1 of the Project No. LT06-4-VRM-TF-001, “Strengthening of Inter-Agency Cooperation and Increasing of Crime Investigation Quality in the Lithuanian Police” under by 2014-2021 Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme. They were held on the following subjects:
- „Interviewing tactics and the specialties of human rights protection“;
- „Asset investigation tactics and best practice overview”;
- Physical surveillance tactics - innovations in technical and organisational solutions”;
- Organisational peculiarities of working with secret police collaborators”;
- Innovations and future challenges in technical solutions for criminal intelligence”.
The training provided the opportunity to share best practices, operational methods and peculiarities of legal regulation seeking to address the issues of concern and problems arising in the above-mentioned fields.
Training participants were actively involved in the discussion of such issues, as the application of potential methods, the choice and the availability of investigative tools at hand, as well as highlighted the benefits of such meetings-training sessions when sharing problems and best practices leads to finding solutions to the issues that seem irresolvable.
The training was attended by 47 national police officers, 3 officers of the Financial Crime Instigation Service under the Ministry of the Interior, and 15 criminal police officers from overseas, i.e. Norway, Latvia and Poland.
