On 14 December 2022, Ole Terje Horpestad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Inga Rudzinskaitė-Colman, Advisor of the Embassy, in charge of the programme of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, and Fabian Richardsen Johansen, the representative of the embassy, visited the Lithuanian Police Forensic Science Centre.
The benefit and contribution of the projects of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism programmes carried out and being currently carried out in the field of strengthening forensic analysis capacities in the Lithuanian police were discussed with the guests. Within the scope of PRUM agreement, a possibility to exchange DNA and fingerprint data between Norwegian and Lithuanian law enforcement agencies was discussed as well. The guests became conversant with the work of the Centre and analyses performed, forensic equipment (purchased using the funds of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Project LT06-4-VRM-TF-001 for 2014-2021 “Strengthening of Inter-Agency Cooperation and Increasing of Crime Investigation Quality in the Lithuanian Police”) in the forensic laboratories was demonstrated to them and the issue of expert cooperation of both countries was spoken about.
