LITHUANIAN CRIMINAL POLICE BUREAU

The Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau (LCPB) is a central criminal police agency, established on a non-territorial basis. LCPB responsibility is to assure prevention, disclosure and investigation of serious and grave crimes of interregional and international character as well as high-profile criminal acts and offences that are seriously detrimental to the society or individuals.  It is a modern specialised police agency giving operational response to all-level events. LCPB coordinates and controls activities of all ten county police headquarters in the areas of criminal intelligence, pre-trial investigation and strategic analysis. Other functions include formulating the strategy of criminal police activities, pursuing and coordinating international cooperation between Lithuanian police and law enforcement agencies as Interpol, Europol, national SIRENE units and other foreign law enforcement agencies. In addition, LCPB organises criminal intelligence training with a view to build special competences of criminal police officers of the country.
