From November 27 to 28, 2023, at the Royal SPA Hotel in Birštonas, the project No. LT06-3-VRM-TF-001 "Improvement of the Quality of the Justice Chain's Work and Strengthening of Competencies to Protect Victims of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence," funded by the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014–2021 program, was implemented. The project was organized by the Police Department under the Ministry of Justice. The workshop on the topic of violence in close environments was based on the results of a legal regulation study conducted by Mykolas Romeris University, commissioned by the National Courts Administration.
Participants included personnel from the police, prosecution, and judiciary, with lectures conducted by professors from Mykolas Romeris University. During the first part of the workshop, participants had an excellent opportunity to hear valuable and relevant information prepared by the lecturers, work in groups composed of representatives from different institutions.
The second part of the workshop will take place on December 13-14, 2023, aiming to ensure the participation of experts from various regions and districts in the training sessions. Experts from all partner institutions of the project will familiarize themselves with the practice of handling cases in the context of violence in close environments.
